Tal was born and raised in Herzliya, Israel. Her father, Ami Tal, is a computer expert with Sephardic Jewish descent (Turkish–Jewish). His original name was "Mizrahi". Ayala Sabat, born Sabat, is an attorney. She is Ashkenazi Jewish (Polish–Jewish). Both parents were born and were raised in Israel. At the age of 9, her parents divorced. She has two sisters, as well as two half-sisters who are from her father's later relationship She was a student at the Thelma Yellin High School in Givatayim, Israel, majoring in theatre.She is Jewish and has stated that she is a "spiritual individual". She was a member of the Israel Defense Forces's theatre for military. Tal started her career after her military service, with a children's musical video tape that featured her as an wicked witch. Then, she was featured in an advertisement for laundry detergent, and then was the main character in Lihiyot Kochav, an Israeli film. Tal was offered roles on two Israeli TV shows while filming the film. She took both. The first one was a soap opera named Tzimerim, about the life of a family who runs a hotel. The second one was HaPijamot (The Pyjamas) which was a sitcom about an unemployed band that is determined to make it in the real world. She took part in the first three seasons and later, she was an actor in the guest role, which gave her the chance to show her musical talent. While she was the primary character only in the first three seasons she was in the fourth season for several episodes.
