Tal was born and raised in Herzliya, Israel. Her father, Ami Tal, is a computer specialist of Sephardic Jewish descent (Turkish–Jewish). His original name was "Mizrahi". Ayala, nee Sabat, is an attorney. She is Ashkenazi Jewish (Polish–Jewish). Both parents were born in Israel. At the age of 9, her parents divorced. She has two sisters, as well as two half-sisters from her father's relationship. attended the Thelma Yellin High School in Givatayim, Israel, majoring in theatre.She is Jewish and has described herself as an "spiritual individual". She worked in the Israel Defense Forces's military theatre. After her military service Tal began her career in an old videotape for children in which she was an evil witch. After that she appeared in an advertisement for laundry detergent and later appeared as the star in Lihiyot Kochav, an Israeli film. Tal was offered roles on two Israeli television shows during filming the movie. She was able to accept both. The first was a soap opera titled Tzimerim, about the life of a family running an establishment; the other one was HaPijamot (The Pyjamas) which was a sitcom about struggling musicians who want to make it on the big stage. The show featured her in the first three seasons and then she became a guest on. This provided her with the chance to showcase her musical talents. While she was the primary role only for the first three seasons she did appear in the final season for a few episodes.
