Her first television appearance was in the year 1995. In the following five years, she was in numerous episodes of Sliders and Diagnosis: Murder. McLellan's first film part was on Dungeons & Dragons in 2000. McLellan then joined CBS' procedural JAG in 2001, playing Navy Petty Officer Jennifer Coates. McLellan was promoted from a supporting role to a regular on the show for the final season. McLellan was later chosen to play the role of Peter Krause's wife on the ABC soapy comedy-drama show Dirty Sexy Money. After two seasons, the show was cancelled in the year 2009. McLellan was also a guest on House as well as The Mentalist. She has also appeared as a guest on Lifetime TV movies. McLellan began her journey as the main female character on the CBS procedural drama NCIS: New Orleans in 2014. In July, it was announced 2016 that she wouldn't return for season 3. 2. McLellan was the character White House Counsel Kendra Daynes in the second season of ABC's Designated Survivor in 2017.
