American actor Christopher Robert Evans was born 13 June 1981 in the United States. His professional career started in 2000, with roles on the television series Opposite Sex. After appearing in a variety of teen movies, including 2001's Not Another Teen Movie (2001), Evans gained fame for his portrayal of the Marvel Comics character the Human Torch, in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2008). Evans also appeared in films adaptations of graphic novel and comic books, including TMNT (2007) and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010). Evans' portrayal as Steve Rogers/Captain USA in various Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and Avengers: Endgame (2018) has earned him a larger public. The character he played in the series established him as one of the highest-paid actors. Evans has also played comic book roles. He was a part of the drama Gifted (2017) as well as the thriller Knives Out (2019). He also starred as the host of the miniseries Defending Jacob (2020). In 2014, he directed the romantic drama Before We Go. The film also wrote the show and played a role in the film. Evans' Broadway debut was in the revival of Kenneth Lonergan’s play Lobby Hero. He received a Drama League Award nomination.
